About Silver Oaks
Silver Oaks covers 21.6 acres and the city's address layer records just 81 addresses inside it, across 98 mapped parcels. That is the second fewest addresses of the fifty Aliso Viejo communities on this site, and at under four to the acre it is the second lowest measured density among them. Four streets run inside it, named for the desert Southwest: Durango Court, Remington Lane, Roundtree Court and Tularosa Court. The city zones 16.4 acres Residential Low Density, where the municipal code allows up to eight units to the gross acre, and gives a further 1.5 acres the Open Space Preservation designation.
Westridge Park adjoins the boundary, 2.5 acres kept by the Aliso Viejo Community Association with a tot lot, picnic tables and walkways, and Oak Park at 2.4 acres is 1,660 feet off. Capistrano Unified's own address locator assigns this ground to Canyon Vista Elementary for TK through grade 5, then Don Juan Avila Middle and Aliso Niguel High, with Canyon Vista 0.35 miles from the boundary.

How Silver Oaks was built
Eighty one houses on 21.6 acres, built in 2000 with three to five bedrooms and 3,383 to 4,182 square feet apiece. That is among the largest houses and the lowest densities in Aliso Viejo. The four streets are the American Southwest: Durango, Tularosa, Roundtree and Remington, the last for Frederic Remington, the painter and sculptor whose work fixed the popular picture of the West.
Silver Oaks stands in Westridge, the high western part of the city, built last and closest to the canyons. The Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park below it opened on 31 March 1990, about 4,500 acres with three creeks, roughly thirty miles of trails, 137 species of nesting and migratory birds, and old growth oak and sycamore recognized by the Old-Growth Forest Network in 2021. It exists because the Mission Viejo Company handed 3,400 acres to Orange County in 1979.
