How Harbor View Broadmoor was built
The layout was recorded in May 1966 and the county carries a construction year on 69 houses inside the boundary, and every single one of them reads 1966. The whole neighborhood is the same age. The 69 houses sit on nine short streets, a mix of single level and two story, tiered so the rows behind keep their view over the bay and the ocean, and the association dues cover a common pool and picnic area. A strip inside the boundary is designated for parks and recreation rather than for houses.
The streets are named for the water the hill looks at rather than for anything on it: Wavecrest, Windover, Surfline, Portside, Starboard and Sand Point, with Goldenrod Avenue running up from the flower grid of the village below. Fifteen months after this layout was recorded the Broadmoor name was used again just uphill, for Broadmoor Hills, whose houses date to 1967.
