            History

How Crown Valley Highlands was built

The city's record runs the years built in Crown Valley Highlands from 1968 to 1992 with a median of 1971, and 87 homes carry 1972 alone, which puts the first houses within a few years of the completion of Crown Valley Parkway in 1964 and while the city's population was still counted in the low thousands.

The land was Rancho Niguel, 13,316 acres granted to Juan Avila in 1842 and worked as a sheep and cattle ranch by Lewis Moulton and Jean Pierre Daguerre from 1895 until the families divided it in 1951. Many of the streets here are Scottish, Lochlomond, Balloch, Buckhaven, Troon, Tieree, Abotsinch and Telfair among them, with Kensington Drive running through the middle. The association's own record with the city lists a clubhouse, a pool, a tot lot, two parks and volleyball courts.

            Schools serving Crown Valley Highlands

Capistrano Unified serves Crown Valley Highlands. Probed at five addresses inside the boundary, the district's locator returned Moulton Elementary at every one, and split above it: Niguel Hills Middle with Dana Hills High at some points and Aliso Viejo Middle with Aliso Niguel High at others. The boundary straddles that middle and high school line, so confirm the campus for a specific address with the district.
