How Tuscany Condominiums was built
Tuscany sits inside Foothill Ranch, which was not part of Lake Forest when it was built. Foothill Ranch was a master planned community finished in 1996, its own census designated place with 10,899 residents at the 2000 census, and Lake Forest voters annexed it that year along with Portola Hills. That is why this end of the city keeps its own ZIP code, its own fire station and its own school feed.
The condominiums here were built in 1990, six years before Foothill Ranch was finished, 340 homes on 17 acres arranged along a single street.
