Overview
About Edna Park
Edna Park covers 97.7 acres and the county records 327 parcels and 322 site addresses inside the boundary, at a median distinct legal lot of 6,037 square feet. Fourteen named streets run 2.68 miles within it, and the naming runs two ways at once: Blueberry Ln, Huckleberry Rd and Strawberry Ln sit beside Jetty St, Spinnaker St and Avalon Ave. The zoning layer gives 49.8 acres to single family residence and 8.6 acres to professional, with 17 acres carried as open space land.
Edna Park itself is inside the boundary at 3.6 acres, and the city records a trail, a trail head rest stop, a picnic area, a playground and off street parking on it. Unlike most of the city this boundary lies wholly inside Garden Grove Unified rather than Santa Ana Unified, and Samueli Academy sits inside it on the city school layer.

How Edna Park was built
Edna Park sits near the Garden Grove line on ground the city folded in through the West Santa Ana Annexation of 1959, part of the wave of annexations that carried Santa Ana's edges outward while its population climbed from 45,533 in 1950 to 156,601 by 1970. The tract filled in fast after that: most of the houses standing today went up in the 1960s, on streets that sit close enough to the border that the neighborhood's kids attend Garden Grove Unified schools even though the neighborhood itself is inside Santa Ana.
The street names tell their own story. Blueberry Lane, Huckleberry Road and Strawberry Lane form a run of berry names on one side of the tract, while Jetty Street and Spinnaker Street carry a nautical theme on the other, the kind of two-phase naming scheme a builder used to mark off sections of a subdivision sold in stages during the 1960s.
