How Valencia Homes was built
Valencia was built in 1997 on the Tustin Ranch Golf Course, and its streets are a roll call of golfers: Boros, Casper, Hogan, Jacklin, Lopez, Snead, La Coste and Bradley among them. The course they run beside is a Ted Robinson design, eighteen holes on 165 acres, and it was one of the two anchors of the whole Tustin Ranch plan.
The community's name is the other half of the story. The Valencia orange was the crop this ground grew, the variety that eventually displaced Tustin's walnut and apricot orchards and carried the town's economy for decades. Naming a golf course subdivision after the fruit it replaced is about as clear a summary of Tustin's century as you will find.
