Overview
About Pointe
Pointe runs 38.2 acres beside the 57 freeway at Lambert Road, and all 309 of its addresses sit on North Pointe Drive. Thirty-two of them carry a unit designator and the parcel layer records fifteen parcels beneath the whole community, one of them residential. The general plan carries 31 acres as Mixed Use II and the zoning MU-II matches it, so this is a mixed use campus rather than a residential subdivision.
Eight works from the city's art collection stand inside the boundary, second only to Country Hills: four by Bill Bedford, among them Interface of 1984 and Dissimilar Equals of 1988, along with Guy Angelo Wilson's Union Passage of 1997, A Tree Within of 2007 and Seeds of Summer of 2012, and Kevin B. Robb's Dance with the Midnight Moon of 2003. The tree inventory records 38 street trees. Thirty-three point seven acres fall in the Very High fire hazard severity class with 1.9 acres in the landslide layer. Brea Olinda High is 0.35 miles away with 1,676 students and Falcon Academy of Science and Technology 0.55 miles with 544.

How Pointe was built
Working with the school board, the city financed an entirely new campus for the aging Brea Olinda High School, and it opened in September 1989 on the northern ridge overlooking the town at 789 Wildcat Way. The street is named for the school's teams, the Wildcats, which is why a Brea address can carry a mascot for a street name. The Pointe boundary covers thirty-eight acres of that ridge and its freeway ramps, with 309 addresses recorded across it.
Eight works from the city's art collection stand inside these thirty-eight acres, second only to Country Hills among Brea's forty-three mapped communities, among them Bill Bedford's Interface of 1984 and Dissimilar Equals of 1988. The count is a direct result of the rule the city adopted in 1975 requiring private developers to commission permanent outdoor art. The rest of the ridge was parceled out around the school between 1986 and 1997.
