The Laguna Niguel Corporation was formed by Cabot, Cabot & Forbes and Paine Webber, went public in April 1959 raising 8.2 million dollars, and hired the Viennese architect Victor Gruen to draw a 7,100 acre town plan. AVCO Community Developers bought the corporation in 1971 and built through the years this association belongs to. Seven streets serve it, six of them Spanish, La Plumosa, La Bajada, La Maravilla, Via Alfonse, Via Carissa and Via Nandina, with Yosemite Road the exception.
