Overview
About Cedar Glen
Cedar Glen holds 322 homes on a single street across 21.5 acres, one of six Lake Forest communities on this site with only one named street inside the boundary. All 323 addresses sit on five ground parcels. The city's land use layer gives 21.4 of the acres the low-medium density residential designation, and the zoning layer classes the same ground as heavy density residential.
The association runs two community pools and two spas. Irvine Ranch Water District supplies the water, street sweeping runs Wednesday in the small hours, and OCFA Station 19 on El Toro Road covers the addresses. The city lists the community on its Neighborhood Watch roster as Cedar Glen Condos, and the property record sends children to Glen Yermo Elementary, Serrano Intermediate and El Toro High.

How Cedar Glen was built
Cedar Glen sits on ground that belonged to Rancho Canada de los Alisos, the 10,668 acre grant Governor Juan Bautista Alvarado made to Jose Antonio Serrano in 1842 and Pio Pico enlarged four years later. Serrano built five adobes on the rancho and ran cattle for hides and tallow. One of those adobes, put up around 1863, still stands at Heritage Hill Historical Park a short drive from here, the only survivor of the five.
The condominiums here went up in 1979, 322 homes on a single street off Trabuco Road near El Toro Memorial Park, with two shared pools and two spas. It is one of only six Lake Forest communities on this site with just one named street inside the boundary, and the city lists it on its Neighborhood Watch roster as Cedar Glen Condos.
