How Concord Crossing was built
Concord Crossing sits on what was Rancho Canada de los Alisos, 10,668 acres granted in 1842 to Jose Antonio Serrano by Governor Alvarado and enlarged by Pio Pico in 1846. Serrano ran cattle here for two decades. The drought that started in 1863 killed the herds, the ranch was foreclosed to a Los Angeles banker, and the land was carved into ten parcels, the largest of them 10,000 acres.
The homes here date to the 1980s on the city's build year layer, 206 of them across 82 acres and twelve streets. That combination gives Concord Crossing the second most land per home of the fifty Lake Forest communities on this site, behind only Montbury, with a median lot of 7,180 square feet.
