How Kimberly Gardens Mobile Homes was built
Muirlands Boulevard runs along the southern side of Lake Forest, and the ground under it was part of Rancho Canada de los Alisos, the 10,668 acre grant Governor Alvarado made to Jose Antonio Serrano in 1842. Serrano built five adobes on the rancho and ran cattle for hides and tallow. One of those adobes, from about 1863, still stands at Heritage Hill Historical Park a few minutes north, the only one of the five left.
