Newport Ridge North covers 123.88 acres of Newport Coast in 3 separate parts on the boundary the City of Newport Beach publishes for it, and the city address layer records 329 addresses inside that line across 21 streets. Every street here is French. Vernon, Harcourt, Le Mans, Bargemon, Fayence, Nerval, Ferrand, Ronsard, Vincennes and Rochelle carry most of the addresses, with Sommet, Seyne, Bandol, Cavaillon, Rivage, Riez, Jarden, Tarascon, Chambord and Musset behind them. The median of the 420 parcels the city draws here runs 7,492 square feet. The city records 336 buildings inside the boundary carrying 324 dwelling units, and the city registry marks the association gated.

Newport Ridge North is the largest of the Newport Ridge associations, and the city land use layer files all of it as Residential Medium High Density across four planning areas. Five recorded tracts carry it, from January 1997 to January 2001. The city land use layer files most of the ground as Planning Area 22 - Residential Medium High Density. Newport-Mesa Unified serves the whole boundary, 123.9 acres on the county district clip. The district locator, probed once per 300 foot grid cell inside the boundary, returns Newport Coast Elementary and Corona del Mar Middle and High School.

            History

How Newport Ridge North was built

The 1988 open space agreement, which locked up more than 6,000 acres of continuous habitat and released 1,600 acres for building, opened the door. Three neighborhoods make up this association and they arrived in order. Rivage came first with 134 homes between 1998 and 2001, then Aubergine with 97 homes in 2001 and 2002, then Provence with 93 homes between 2001 and 2003. That makes this the late chapter of Newport Ridge rather than the early one.

The street names are the most thoroughly French in Orange County. There are towns and cities: Le Mans of the twenty four hour race, Tarascon on the Rhone, Cavaillon of the melons, Bandol of the wine, plus Riez, Fayence, Bargemon, Seyne and Rochelle. There are two great chateaux, Chambord and Vincennes. There are three poets, Pierre de Ronsard, Alfred de Musset and Gerard de Nerval, which is an unusual thing to find on a suburban street sign. And there are two plain French nouns that describe the ground itself, Sommet, meaning summit, and Rivage, meaning shore.
