The community is built around riding. Every street name is a horse breed or a racing term: Belgian, Breton, Cleveland Bay, Clydesdale, Connemara, Dapple Gray, Falabella, Jutland, Lipizzan, Morgan, Oldenburg, Paso Fino, Red Roan, Shetland, Welsh Pony, Trotter, Steeplechase and Winners Circle. How Quarter Horse was built
Every street in Quarter Horse is a horse. Belgian Lane, Breton Lane, Cleveland Bay Lane, Connemara Court, Falabella Lane, Jutland Lane, Lipizzan Lane, Morgan Court, Oldenburg Lane, Paso Fino Way, Shetland Lane and Welsh Pony Lane are breeds, drawn from Belgium, Brittany, Yorkshire, Ireland, Argentina, Denmark, Austria, New England, Germany, the Caribbean and Britain. Dapple Gray Lane and Red Roan Lane are coat colors rather than breeds, and Trotter Lane, Steeplechase Way and Winners Circle describe what happens once the horse is saddled.
The theme is not decoration. Yorba Linda calls itself the Land of Gracious Living and backs that with a working riding network rather than a slogan: the Quarter Horse Staging Area, 3.4 acres of it, sits inside this community, and the Quarter Horse Trail is part of nearly three miles of trail threading 242 homes across 230 acres. One of those trail segments is attributed to Chino Hills State Park, and 3.7 acres of the park itself fall inside the boundary line.
