How Brea Country Condos was built
Brea Country was built in 1974 on 6.2 acres along Brea Boulevard and added to until about 1981, finishing at roughly 100 homes. At better than sixteen homes to the acre it is among the densest ground in Fullerton, and the homes are small by the standards of the city around them, most of them between 950 and 1,005 square feet.
The boulevard it sits on is the older thing here. Brea Boulevard is the road north out of Fullerton toward Brea, whose name is the Spanish word for tar, taken from the seeps that made the district an oil town rather than a citrus one. This stretch was groves and open land for most of the century before the condominiums went up.
