About Fairway Village
Fairway Village runs 55 acres along Bastanchury Road and names almost every cul-de-sac inside it after a golf course. Inside are 287 addresses on 283 parcels with 1.98 miles of private street.
The city zones 54.8 acres PRD Planned Residential Development and the general plan holds all of it as Low-Density Residential, with 17.4 acres in the state's High fire hazard severity class. How Fairway Village was built
The homes here went up in 1977, and the association that governs them was formed the year before. There are 287 homes behind the gates, set in low buildings along the edge of the Fullerton Golf Course, and a good many of the floor plans are built around a central atrium, an idea Southern California builders liked in the middle seventies and largely dropped afterward.
The street names say plainly what the place was selling. Augusta, Pebble Beach, Pinehurst, Riviera, Inverness and Colonial are all tournament courses, so a resident's return address reads like a golf calendar. Loma Vista Memorial Park lies just along Bastanchury Road, and the Fullerton Sports Complex is the nearest city park.
