            Overview

            About St Michel

St Michel covers 19.37 acres of Newport Coast in 4 separate parts on the boundary the City of Newport Beach publishes for it, and the city address layer records 174 addresses inside that line across 12 streets. Twelve streets, all of them French. Clermont carries thirty six of the addresses, ahead of Versailles, Trouville, Belfort, Menton, Chaminade, Hertford, Limoges, Villeneuve, Montreaux, Grenelle and Deauville. The median of the 182 parcels the city draws here runs 4,400 square feet. The city records 174 buildings inside the boundary carrying 172 dwelling units, and the city registry marks the association gated.

The median parcel the city draws inside St Michel measures 4,400 square feet, the smallest of the twenty eight associations Newport Coast files, and the association is drawn in four separate parts. The city land use layer files most of the ground as Planning Area 3 - Residential Medium High Density. Newport-Mesa Unified serves the whole boundary, 19.4 acres on the county district clip. The district locator, probed once per 300 foot grid cell inside the boundary, returns Newport Coast Elementary and Corona del Mar Middle and High School.

            History

            How St Michel was built

Building here ran from 1993 to 1999, one of the longer construction spans in Newport Coast, and it followed the 1988 agreement that protected more than 6,000 acres of continuous open space and released 1,600 acres. The toll road opened in November 1996 with an exit at Newport Coast Drive, and everything here was annexed into the City of Newport Beach on January 1, 2002.

The twelve streets are a tour of France. Versailles for the palace. Limoges for the porcelain. Menton for the lemon town on the Italian border. Trouville and Deauville, which sit facing each other across the mouth of the same Normandy river and have argued about which is smarter since the 1860s. Then Clermont, Belfort, Villeneuve, Montreaux, Chaminade and Grenelle, which is a quarter of Paris. Hertford is the odd one out, an English county town that somehow slipped into a French street plan.

The first tract map, TR 14617, was recorded on June 15, 1993 at map book page MM 699/5-13, and the last of the 2, TR 14902, on September 6, 1994. The Keith Companies engineered the first map. Newport Coast was unincorporated county land at the time and Newport Beach annexed it in 2002. A recorded map is the filing date for the subdivision rather than a construction date for any one home.
