How Arcadia Condos was built
The homes on Monza, Savanna and Verona were built in 1989 and 1990, on the Tustin Ranch side of the city, and local records also carry the community under the name Arcada. The Italian street names run through the whole pocket. It holds a little over two hundred homes on thirteen acres.
All of this was orange and lemon ground until the middle of the 1980s. The land belonged to the Irvine Ranch, which James Irvine and his partners assembled in 1864 out of three adjoining Mexican land grants into a holding of about 185 square miles. The Irvine Company decided to build the planned community of Tustin Ranch in 1982, the county approved it in 1986, and Tustin annexed it the same year, creating the 92782 ZIP code out of nothing.
