How Presidio Townhomes was built
Every street in Presidio carries the name of a Tustin man who went to war. Alstot, Brand, Churchill, Davis, Dishman, Duroy, Gray, Holderman, Kimball, Mueller, Plumb, Taulbee and Wolert are thirteen of the eighteen Tustin Ranch streets named for servicemen with a connection to the city, most of whom grew up here and went to Tustin High. All but one of them died in uniform.
In 2017 the Tustin Community Foundation's Patriots and Pioneers program began holding a ceremony on each of those streets on the anniversary of that soldier's death, with a procession by American Legion Post 227, a eulogy and a bugler playing Taps. The houses themselves were built between the mid 1980s and 1998, on citrus ground the Irvine Company began developing as Tustin Ranch in 1982 and Tustin annexed in 1986.
